Melbourne’s Hotel Windsor Offers Warm Winter Retreat

Melbourne’s renowned Hotel Windsor is the perfect base from which to enjoy all that the city has to offer during winter and, with the gift of an exclusive Hotel Windsor scarf or umbrella, a winter retreat at the grand old hotel will be more special than ever.

Set in the heart of Melbourne’s theatre, shopping and cultural district, The Hotel Windsor is only a short walk from Melbourne’s leading attractions including Federation Square and the National Gallery of Victoria, Southbank and the Yarra River, and the MCG.

The hotel’s winter package is available from May 12 to August 31. Prices, inclusive of GST, start from $185 for a Standard Room, $225 for a Superior Room, $275 for a Deluxe Room and from $325 for Suites. All guests will receive one umbrella or scarf per booking.

“Melbourne can be at its best during the winter months,” Hotel Windsor CEO and general manager David Perry said. “Our special winter package prices ensure a range of people will be able to enjoy the delights of this charming and historic hotel while experiencing some of the many sporting and cultural events that are on in the city during this time.”

The 180-room Hotel Windsor was built in 1883, pre-dating some of the world’s leading grand hotels including the Savoy in London, which was built in 1889, the Waldorf Astoria in New York which dates back to 1893, and the Ritz Paris which opened in 1898. It is renowned for its magnificent Victorian architecture, its award-winning service levels, and the dining experiences offered at the elegant 111 Spring Street restaurant, including the traditional afternoon tea.
