Helen Wong Ken Duncan China photo tour

Leading Australian photographer Ken Duncan has chosen inspirational China as his next international destination to accompany a group of enthusiasts and budding photographers.

Widely renowned for his panoramic landscape images, Ken has teamed up with the Australian Geographic Society and China specialist of 26 years Helen Wong's Tours to create a five-star 18-day "The Great Shots of China Tour" leaving Australia on May 17, 2014.

The exclusive escorted tour – priced from $11,000 per person, twin share, including Cathay Pacific air fare – will begin in capital Beijing and head to some of the People's Republic's most breathtaking regions.

"You've heard of the treasures of the Orient – well, we've found them for you," said Ken on his return from a reconnaissance mission with his daughter Jessica in May this year.

"The itinerary has been carefully designed to give you the best possible photographic opportunities," he said.

"Every activity is planned to put you at the right place at the right time for that perfect shot. And I'll be there to answer any questions you have."

Not only will the group explore the icons of Beijing – The Great Wall, Summer Palace, the Forbidden City and more – they will be guided through the cobblestoned streets of Lijiang ancient town.

"They will also drift along the Li River near Guilin as locals fish from traditional bamboo rafts and capture the breathtaking beauty that has inspired artists for centuries," said Ken.

"You will discover the stark beauty of the Stone Forest, be amazed by the sapphire lakes of Jiuzhaigou and delighted by your encounter with giant Pandas in Chengdu," he said.

"In the evenings you will enjoy delicious Chinese cuisine and world class cultural shows."

The group will stay in five-star hotels throughout the tour with all meals included in the price, along with the Cathay Pacific international and domestic air fares with transfers, four evening shows, sightseeing and entrance fees as well as departure taxes, security and fuel surcharges (subject to change).

Each guest also receives a travel kits, including a 408-page Odyssey China book and cabin bag. Those with Australian passports will also receive a free China visa.
