Escape with the family on an outing that takes you to a rainforest, thrilling rides, and breathtaking views all at one location – Scenic World in the Blue Mountains.

Operating now for three generations, the Hammons have created Australia’s most visited privately-owned tourist attraction, inspired by their passion for unforgettable family experiences in a natural environment.

Only 90 minutes drive from Sydney, Joint Managing Directors, Anthea and David Hammon, have just refreshed Scenic World, including the new $30 million Scenic Railway.

The world’s steepest passenger railway

Already the world’s steepest passenger railway, families are now sharing the experience of choosing their own comfort zone for the 310 metre descent. With the flick of a switch passengers can adjust their seats for a ‘cliff hanger’ ride at 64 degrees, the original 52 degrees, or the softer laid back journey at 44 degrees down to the Jamison Valley.

On the rainforest floor – which can also be accessed by Australia’s biggest cable car, the Scenic Cableway – is Australia’s longest elevated boardwalk, the Scenic Walkway at 2.4km.

Through the refreshed website, www.scenicworld.com.au, families can now design their Scenic World experience before arriving. An interactive map and list of suggested itineraries, help families plan their trip, including: the Waterfall Walk to view Katoomba Falls, the easy trail for parents with prams, Nan & Pop with the Kids; and for the more adventurous, the Great Round Walk, taking in the Giant Staircase and Federal Pass through the National Park.

The attraction also has the Scenic Skyway – the highest in Australia at 270 metres – that captivates children with its glass floor. The return Skyway platform leads to a short walk to the Three Sisters, allowing families the luxury of visiting the iconic location while leaving their car in Scenic World’s free carpark.

To refuel for other Scenic World adventures, the new family-friendly eatery, EATS270, has a fabulous family-friendly menu featuring local and seasonal produce – and stunning Jamison Valley views.

Entry to Scenic World costs $35 per adult, $18 for children (4-13yrs), $88 for a family, and $32 for concession holders for unlimited rides on the railway, skyway, cableway and walkway.

There is also an annual pass for families costing $239, for two adults and up to five children under 13. The pass entitles visitors to unlimited rides all day, every day of the year, 15% off additional tickets, food and beverage, and retail purchases.
